“Included women to move the Israeli-Palestinian peace process forward” is the argument of both authors; Carla Koppell and Rebecca Miller. Carla Koppell is director of the Institute for Inclusive Security and the Washington, DC office of Hunt Alternatives Fund. Rebecca Miller is Senior Program Specialist at the Institute for Inclusive Security. They focused their speech on negotiators supposing to engage on the movement to gather a better world of lasting peace. They both used personal experiences and evidence to support their stand by traveling to Ramallah, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, where they worked with female leaders in order to create and improve Israeli- Palestinian talks.
Throughout their opinions Koppell and Miller gather historical references such as contributing the United States President Barack Obama. Also the use of many different opinions from different experts and important people are distributed throughout the speech. For example; an issue made by George Mitchell, U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East peace, is informed that he saw the value a critical mass of women adds when he mediated an end to the conflict in Northern Ireland. In another occasion there is an opinion from a women’s Coalition in Northern Ireland, who is ensuring that talks from women promoted reconciliation, and secured human rights for prisoners. In the other hand, in Darfur’s negotiations stated it that women focused attention on civilian protection and women’s rights. An announcement or mostly known as an informed opinion from Wisely, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was preformed saying that consistence with Israeli law mandating women’s inclusion, the Israel delegation will include a women. Hilary Clinton agreed the need for more inclusive peace building and in August 2009, she argued that “so-called women’s issues are stability, security issues, equity issues.” Both Clinton and Mitchell’s argument lead the opportunity to involve women and civil society in the middle East peace process. Polls informs and projects a logical theory that the majority of Palestinians and Israelis are tired of war and simply are looking for peace, and he based his theory in personal experiences shown in his life.
Throughout their opinions there is an appropriate language and appropriate level of vocabulary, since it is for people all around the world, performed to the audience in order for them to considered it as a sincere and honest speech performed by both Koppell and Miller. There is a very good example using the rhetorical appeal ethos; saying that when women were included in the negotiations they notice there was a raise in key issues, so both thought that the best way to give these populations more ownership was to open the talks for women. She tries to give a sincere advise to she tries to use an appropriate sentence to get the attention of the audience. Going back to the george Mitchell opinion in the previous paragraph, was that “they created a structure for continued consultation with civil society and built bridges among negotiating parties”, so by giving the opinion mentioned on the last paragraph he then presents a king of an award, in this case that he created a new structure to continue with civil society.
Not much of emotions are presented in this article since most of the paper are opinions of people, so there are presented as facts but some pathos is shown in the article of Koppell and Mitchell. Several examples are presented for example “Yet rooms full of smart leaders who want peace knew nothing about their representatives positions or plans” in this quote one can see how leaders who wanted peace didn't know or maybe didn't want to know about the their representative roles. Each of the peoples presented on the article show a certain emotionally tone on each of their sayings mentioned on the last two paragraphs.
